I love the process of making art and creating commissioned pieces that bring someone else’s memory or idea to life; whether I’m translating a vacation scene, a personal story, a meaningful experience, or an emotional connection into paint and texture, the act of listening, interpreting, and experimenting feels joyful and purposeful. Each commission becomes a collaboration: I gather the details, probe for what mattered most, and then explore color, composition, and material until the work resonates with both the original moment and my own creative voice. There’s a particular satisfaction in watching a client recognize their memory in a painting—sometimes even see it more clearly than they remembered—and knowing the piece will live in their home as a daily reminder of a moment, a person, or a feeling.
